I prefer non-insulated terminals. Crimp and solder, then use heat shrink tube with heat activated sealer. Obviously takes longer but lasts forever.

I have a Trane 4 ton 16 seer installed last year, it has a prickly stuff on the coils, kinda looks like small Christmas tree garland. How / what to use cleaning it? I had a Amana for 26 years and always cleaned it the way you described. Just wondering about this new stuff. Thanks.

Thank you for putting out a great video. I did this after watching the video ane my a/c runs about 6 to 7 degrees cooler. It hadn't benn cleaned in a while so I will be doing this every spring. I am also thinking about a soft start install. Thank you for the information.

You want a filter that allows air to move. Filtrete is electrostatic so it will trap. I just use the basic one. Works great

its also a good idea to not have a few snorts of scotch before crimping....

Amazing how expensive these units are considering only a few items that make it operate.

Obviously, you pre-twist. If you don’t, when twisting like three or four wires together, something might shift in there and you don’t even know it . Yes I get it will work 99% of time but pre twist works 100% of time

👍Ratchet crimpers are the best, you can get different dies to crimp a variety of things.

Hello my name Larry, and I recently purchased a new set of Craftsman batteries and a charger, they are Craftsman V2 4.0AH Lithium ION with my purchase I got a new tool for free. The problem is that I'm old school and have the old school set of tools that use the 19.2v batteries, the salesperson said to me NOT problem there is an adapter that I can purchase online from Amazon. The salesperson looked up the part number a gave it to me so I ordered it, but you guessed it ,it didn't match up and didn't work. I return it and bought another but it didn't work either. Is there an adapter you know of that will work for me.

When I used these charcoal filter type air purifiers, I had problems with thick mucus that would wake me up in the middle of the night to hack- brownish and causes coughing. The charcoal filter is the culprit. When I stopped using the purifiers I stopped getting the mucus

Always the capacitor in my situations. High heat and consistent running and it seems to go out causing the unit to blow non-cool air. Without even testing it I can usually tell , because they tend to bulge when bad (not always). They are not that great (as in cheaply China made) anymore, so buy two cause they’re cheap. Usually 19.99 off of EBay and I’m back in business. Not saying to not have it serviced periodically, but “some”easy fix in a pinch.

1:10 Tool? what tool? i dont remember any tool! 😁 Thanks! Never changed the blade on my DW 716XPS , Couldn't figure out why it was so hard. Don't forget to look behind the fence where i found the tool conveniently mounted! (so thats what thats for!) If not you can buy a replacement for about $11 or use a Torx 30 bit , Dont really need the T 40 because u can use a channel locks/ pliers / socket wrench on the arbor bolt once you get the shroud pushed back. But the 30 bolts are round . What a silly design!

I used to be electrician/technician and my hands looked just like yours with many small wounds. It's hard to do electrical work while wearing gloves. I do crimp connections just like you so to but I always put conductive grease on the wire before I crimp it. I prefer soldered connections if possible.

Love your videos. I've made some of the mistakes you've called out for sure.

I really feel you should have shown the Klein have an alternate set of crimping teeth for the non-insulated terminals. Otherwise, this was a great beginners crimping video.

I just put wire in terminal slide off plastic cover. Solder wire to connector slide back on color cover. Crimp is unreliable solder isn’t

Great video. I’m new to electrical repairs and wiring amongst other things in my job and this video along with a couple of your other videos I viewed really helped.

I think the reason why the crimp produced at 9:45 by the cheaper tooth-and-slot crimping tool isn't as flattened as the crimp produced by the Klein crimping tool is that the slot of the cheaper tool is curved, while the slots of the Klein (shown at 12:43) are flat. With the cheaper tool, I would crimp twice... first using the slot area to start the crimp, and then using a flat area of the tool to complete the flattening.
